Convalescent Plasma - An Approach to COVID-19

12/15/2020
A Patient and Donor Story

Convalescent plasma is one way some COVID-19 patients are treated. Plasma is collected from the blood of recovered COVID-19 patients, like Chad Baker. The plasma has antibodies that are believed to help stimulate the immune system of those suffering, like Ned Steffens. In this video, learn how this therapy impacted one family's life, and why some recovered COVID-19 patients feel it's imperative to donate their plasma in the hopes of helping others.

Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies makes the equipment that collects, separates and processes blood and cells - including convalescent plasma. There are many ways plasma can be collected, including Trima Accel® Automated Blood Collection System.
