It was our pleasure to welcome our customers and distributors to the 29th Regional Congress of the International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT) in Basel, Switzerland, June 22 – 26, 2019.
ISBT hosted 2,865 visitors from more than 103 countries, with the most visitors coming from the United States, DACH countries, Netherlands, France and China.
This educational congress provided the perfect opportunity for participants to stop by our Terumo BCT booth. The number of visitors and the strong interest in our products and solutions impressed us.
Our experts presented our latest solutions and demonstrated how they help improve the blood collection experience. From collecting more products per donor to configuring and enforcing our customers' standard operation procedures, visitors could see, touch and experience the innovations helping blood centers keep pace with the pulse of change.
We showcased the Reveos® Automated Blood Collection System, next generation technologies including Trima® Accel Automated Blood Collection System Version 7 with TOMEs (Terumo Operational Medical Equipment Software), TSCD®-II Sterile Tubing Welder with TOMEs and the Mirasol® Pathogen Reduction Technology (PRT) System. The team delivered engaging customer presentations with supporting data and examples and used digital tools including the Trima Accel 7 Digital Interactive and a Solution Station featuring product information and videos.
On Monday evening we had the pleasure to host a successful educational symposium featuring three guest speakers. Nearly 50 people attended the event, which covered the following presentations:
- Operational Excellence with Trima Accel 7 and TOMEs, presented by Dr. Ana Arruga Manzano, Madrid, Spain
- Improving Blood Processing and Safety Through Automation and PRT, presented by Dr. Ana Isabel Pérez Aliaga, Zaragosa, Spain
- Hemovigilance of Mirasol Pathogen-Reduced Whole Blood in Ghana, presented by Dr. Shirley Owusu-Ofori, Kumasi, Ghana
We also took the opportunity to conduct targeted market research to learn more about our customers. Several key customers shared insights on various topics that will support product development going forward.
We benefitted from many valuable conversations with customers, colleagues and specialists, and connected with clinicians, scientists, transfusion practitioners and other experts in transfusion medicine. We met our objectives to grow strong customer relationships, show our integrated solution portfolio and continue building the Terumo BCT brand.
