​​Lakewood, Colo., USA — Terumo BCT and Terumo Corporation, our parent company, are closely monitoring the current outbreak of coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Our preparations and response are guided by our mission: Contributing to Society Through Healthcare.

We are actively planning based on three principles:

• First, our utmost priority is the continued health and well-being of our 7,100 employees worldwide.
• Second, we are exercising maximum effort to maintain a stable supply of products to meet healthcare needs.
• Finally, we are actively engaged in and contributing to the global efforts for the prevention and treatment of COVID-19.

Business Continuity
We have strong business continuity plans to help ensure continued availability of our products that are used to treat critically ill patients and that collect and process blood and blood products. Travel
Based on local government and health authority guidelines, the company has suspended business travel to and from some countries where COVID-19 is very widespread, other than to serve critical customer needs. This is to ensure the safety of our employees, limit the spread of the disease and stay as healthy as possible so we can carry out our mission. Some employees are working from home and some are following rotating office schedules — depending on their geographic location and position. Other employees are using technology (such as video calls) to maintain our business services while avoiding personal contact. We are evaluating participation in congresses and conventions based on the epidemiological situation and guidelines from local health authorities.

Terumo BCT's global COVID-19 response team is regularly assessing the situation and determining appropriate actions to inform stakeholders and meet the needs of our employees, customers and the industry.​
