Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies is continuing its ongoing support of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) with its first of a planned series of annual Bark and Brew 5k Fun Run and Walk on Sept. 9 in Lakewood's Belmar Park. LLS is the largest nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a world without blood cancers. Its mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
Since 2007, Terumo BCT has raised more than $1.9 million in support of LLS, and each year its donations represent 20% of the Rocky Mountain Chapter's revenue. The Terumo BCT team is already close to meeting its goal of raising $100,000 for LLS.
Corporate and individual donations help LLS fund research, support patients and advocate for blood cancer cures and treatment.

Terumo BCT's roots in Lakewood go back to 1967. It opened its Lakewood global campus in 2015.
Bark & Brew 5k Fun Run & Walk Details
Registration:
- 5k Fun Run and Walk: $40 entry fee (price increases after Aug. 16)
- Family Fun 1Mile Walk: $40 per family
- Beer Garden Only: $20
- Virtual 5K Bark and Brew: $30
The event is being held at Lakewood's Belmar Park, 801 S. Wadsworth Blvd.
The 5k run/walk starts at 10 a.m., the family fun walk begins at 11:30 a.m., and the beer garden opens at 11 a.m. The event concludes at 2 p.m.
