Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Fueling long-term growth through strong financial performance

Rusty Spinney is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies, where he leads the global finance organization, including accounting, reporting, tax, treasury, compliance, and enterprise risk management. He approaches the role much like conducting a symphony — ensuring each element of the business, from pricing and cost to capital and operations, works in harmony to deliver strong performance.

A pragmatic and enterprise-minded leader, Rusty partners closely with senior teams to shape strategy, evaluate trade-offs, and ensure the company delivers on its operating and financial goals in a dynamic global environment.

During his more than decade-long tenure, Rusty has helped support the company’s growth from approximately $400 million to $1.6 billion in annual revenue while consistently delivering strong financial performance. He has also led major finance transformation efforts, including modernizing core systems and advancing enterprise-wide capabilities to support future growth.

Prior to his current role, Rusty served as Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies’ SVP of Global Operations, overseeing enterprise production and supply chain. Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles at Quiznos and Molson Coors, served as European controller for Bass Brewery in England, and worked in advisory services at PwC.

Rusty is a founding board member of the CB State of Mind, a nonprofit focused on expanding access to mental health services, and he serves on the board of the Crested Butte Land Trust, which protects and preserves open space, ranchland, and natural ecosystems.

Rusty holds a bachelor’s degree in business finance from Colorado State University.
