Chief Operating Officer

Raising the bar on quality, reliability, and performance — globally

Chris Williams is Chief Operating Officer at Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies, where he leads global manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and digital transformation. His focus is simple: Deliver high‑quality, high‑value, innovative products that customers can rely on — everywhere they operate.

Since joining the company in 2019, Chris has strengthened the company’s operational backbone. His teams built three new manufacturing facilities in Cartago, Costa Rica; Colorado, U.S.; and Kerala, India — all during the COVID‑19 pandemic — while improving delivery, reliability, and continuity for customers worldwide. Under his leadership, customer service levels have exceeded 98%, the company has achieved zero findings across 13 consecutive regulatory audits, and supply chain resilience has been significantly improved by increasing dual-sourced materials from 10% to 75%. In total, his team has delivered $175 million in operational value.

Throughout his career, Chris has built lean, customer‑focused organizations and performance‑driven cultures. He brings decades of manufacturing and operations leadership experience. At Baxter, he held progressively more senior roles, rebuilding facilities, launching large‑scale engineering and continuous improvement initiatives, and leading manufacturing operations across Europe — delivering dramatic cost, quality, and customer service improvements. He later helped transform operations at Salter Labs and Santa Cruz Nutritionals before serving as Vice President of Manufacturing Operations at PharMEDium Services.

Chris holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Mississippi State University.

He and his wife Kathy enjoy tennis, traveling, and spending time with their Bernedoodles.
