William “Bill” J. Cahill serves as General Counsel for Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies, as well as Executive Vice President, General Counsel, and Chief Risk Officer for Terumo Americas Holding, Inc. Over his 30-year relationship with Terumo, Bill has been deeply involved in the company’s evolution — supporting acquisitions, integration and expansion across multiple regions and business units. Today, he leads a global team of approximately 85 professionals across legal, compliance, intellectual property, internal audit and risk management, partnering closely with leaders to navigate complexity, support decision-making and enable success across complex, global operations.

Since joining Terumo BCT, Bill has rebuilt and strengthened the legal and compliance function during a period of significant transformation. He has re-energized the organization by investing in talent, promoting from within, and expanding global capabilities, resulting in a more connected and resilient organization aligned to the company’s growth strategy.

Bill began his relationship with Terumo in 1996 as outside counsel. In 2015, he officially joined the organization following a distinguished career as the owner and managing partner of Cahill & Associates, P.C., and earlier as an attorney at Donovan & Associates, P.C. Prior to entering the legal profession, he had a successful career in sales and marketing.

Bill is passionate about environmental advocacy and has shared his knowledge as an Adjunct Professor at Rutgers Law School’s Environmental Litigation Clinic, where he taught and mentored aspiring attorneys in the use of environmental law for public good. He currently chairs the Board of Trustees of NY/NJ Baykeeper and is a founding member (1999) of the Waterkeeper Alliance, a global coalition dedicated to protecting waterways and ensuring clean, abundant water for all.

Bill earned his Juris Doctor from the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University.
