Update on Terumo BCT Global Supply Chain and Logistics in Response to the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Outbreak

A letter to our customers

Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for your questions about business continuity related to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. At Terumo BCT, our highest priority is the health and safety of our associates, our community, healthcare professionals and the patients we serve.

To date, there is little disruption to our supply chain as a result of the pandemic. We have implemented safety precautions at our factories to ensure social distancing to protect our associates. We are operating at sufficient levels to continue meeting current demand.

Terumo BCT's facility in Trivandrum, India (Terumo Penpol) located in the state of Kerala, closed effective Wednesday, 25 March 2020, for 21 days following the Government of India's announced need for stringent actions to contain the spread of COVID-19. When the government allows us to restart operations, our company has a strong raw material position to begin production at our normal levels. We plan to explore the possibility of resuming our operations sooner with our labor partners and the permission of the Government of India.

Our global cross-functional team is working hard to ensure there is no downstream impact on our supply chain. We have proactively contacted all Terumo BCT suppliers and logistics partners and are continuing daily follow-up. At this time, there is a low risk to our supplies. We are monitoring the situation closely and will provide updates if the current situation changes.

Our inventory deployment is experiencing some delays due to global transportation restrictions, country border closings and congestion at borders, ports and transportation nodes. We are doing everything possible to continue delivery on time.

Terumo BCT has a comprehensive and established Business Continuity Policy in place, designed to safeguard our associates around the world and our ability to deliver products worldwide. Guided by this policy and our social responsibility to healthcare, we are committed to providing continuous support to our customers so they can continue their business operations during critical events.

We understand this is a dynamic situation and are fully committed to keeping you informed. Please contact us through your normal channels with further questions.
