The Process of Concentrating Adipose Tissue

Process Purified Adipose Tissue Into a Purified MSC-Rich Graft in Just 4 Minutes1

The AdiPrep® Adipose Concentration System concentrates tissue samples to deliver a graft with high stem cell and nucleated cell counts while significantly reducing excess fluid that contribute to graft volume loss. The resulting purified adipose concentrate can then be used for clinical grafting procedures.

The AdiPrep System Versus Gravity Decantation

Gravity decantation, the most common technique for processing a sample of lipoaspirate, does not remove lipids and excess fluids effectively and may produce a poor-quality graft. The AdiPrep system isolates oils and lipids using a proprietary lipid barrier disc technology built into the AdiPrep process disposable.

High Cell Concentrations

The AdiPrep system can generate an adipose graft capable of delivering a high concentration of stem cells directly to the application site. The chart below shows the concentration of cellular components in a typical adipose graft prepared using the AdiPrep system.1

Nucleated cells 230,000/mL
Cell viability 78% to 95%

SmartPrep® System AdiPrep Process Disposables

AdiPrep Process Disposables are used with the SmartPrep System. The SmartPrep system provides valuable flexibility to process all three major autologous biologics—platelet-rich plasma (PRP), concentrated bone marrow aspirate (BMA) and concentrated adipose tissue—using a single platform.2

Proprietary Lipid Barrier Disc

The AdiPrep process disposable includes a proprietary lipid barrier disc to isolate inflammatory lipids and oils from the final concentrated adipose tissue preparation.

Risk Information: These procedures require needle access, possibly resulting in discomfort, tenderness, bruising, swelling, bleeding or pain at the access site, at which there is a small risk of infection. Lightheadedness, fainting, nausea or vomiting may occur. Before any medical procedure, review prescription and nonprescription medications and any natural or herbal remedies your patient is taking or plans to take.
