Do Work That Does Good

At Terumo BCT, we are deeply committed to our vision of working together for better lives and our promise to unlock the potential of blood. One way we back these words is through our pledge to be a conscientious corporate citizen and conduct our business in a way that provides social, environmental and economic benefit to all.

Improving Lives Through Corporate Citizenship

  • Charitable giving and matching gift programs
Through our charitable giving program, we give back hundreds of thousands of dollars every year to the community through non-profit organizations.
  • Annual participation in the U.S. Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light the Night® Walk and fundraising campaign
Since 2007, Terumo BCT and its associates have donated more than $1 Million to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light The Night campaign and their work to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
  • Community Involvement
From participating in World Blood Donor Day, to the Clean India Movement, to supporting Girls Exploring Science, Technology, Engineering and Math and many more activities and organizations, our associates are working to make the world a better place by contributing to their communities.
  • Global standards of business conduct and SAKURA rules training and compliance
By acting with integrity and honor in all we do, we earn the trust of our associates, our customers and the communities where we live and work.
  • Associate catastrophic assistance fund
Because we don’t want our associates to face life-changing catastrophic events alone, we created this fund to provide financial assistance after a catastrophic event.
  • Associate health, safety and work-life effectiveness
We place great value on the care and well-being of our associates and offer a variety of ways to improve their health and productivity both in and out of the office.
  • Research and grants to advance treatment options for patients
Our annual grant program encourages discovery in the field of therapeutic apheresis and fuels our ongoing quest to unlock the potential of blood.

Conserving Natural Resources

While participation varies by country, all of our offices strive to do their part in the world and conserve natural resources through initiatives such as:

  • Participating in efforts to reduce our carbon footprint through environmentally friendly product development
  • Using renewable energy with solar-powered systems
  • Redirecting steam produced in manufacturing to heat work spaces
  • Recovering water used in manufacturing to cool work spaces
  • Using modern water treatment systems that do not rely on hazardous chemicals
  • Reducing the use of diesel-powered work vehicles and the number of transcontinental shipping containers
  • Maintaining waste diversion programs for manufacturing sites; 100% of solid waste materials in Japan and 90% in the U.S. are diverted from the landfill
