Trima Accel®Automated Blood Collection System Basic 5-Day Technical Training Course for Service/Repair

In this 5-day class, you will learn about basic apheresis technology and methodologies. This class covers the basic computer control operational theories, control circuit theory block diagrams, and basic machine theory of operation for the Trima Accel system. Component description and location, as well as removal and replacement topics, are presented. A significant emphasis is placed on learning the software tools to perform diagnostics and control device functions. You will also learn about all Trima Accel system-specific tools and how to use them to perform preventive maintenance and calibrations.

Upon completing this class, you will be able to:

  • Load and unload a disposable tubing set
  • Perform a saline run
  • Troubleshoot machine alarms during the run
  • Troubleshoot basic hardware failures and hardware alarms using service software
  • Perform preventive maintenance on the Trima Accel system

Prerequisites:
Attendees must have a solid electrical/mechanical background with a strong knowledge of personal computers and the ability to navigate in a Microsoft® Windows® environment. Above-average knowledge of Microsoft Excel® is required. Our instructors will not provide Microsoft Excel® training. Attendees must bring a laptop computer to class with the following system requirements:

  • Windows® 7, Windows® 8.1 or Windows® 10 (32- and 64-bit OS for all)
  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0
  • 1 GHz or higher processor
  • 1 GB of hard drive space
  • 1024 × 768 or higher screen resolution

They must also possess administrator rights allowing them to install the service software and change IP addresses to connect to Trima Accel devices; all other required tools will be provided.

Spectra Optia® Apheresis System Basic 5-Day Technical Training Course for Service/Repair

In this 5-day course, you will receive an in-depth description of the theory of operation of the device; machine applications; technical descriptions, including parts, location and identification; service-mode testing and preventive maintenance; and how to troubleshoot the device using service tools.

Upon completing this course, you will be able to:

  • Describe the flow path of fluid through the machine
  • Describe the intended use of the device
  • Perform a simulated patient run
  • Perform a preventive maintenance procedure on the device
  • Identify the possible causes for an alarm or hardware failure
  • Identify, test, remove, and replace faulty components
  • Download, decode, and analyze run data files to identify possible device problems

COBE® 2991 Cell Processor Basic 5-Day Technical Training Course for Service/Repair

This 5-day technical course covers the theory of operation, applications, component identification, troubleshooting, calibrations, and preventive maintenance. Emphasis is placed on providing a well-rounded understanding of the various vintage configurations available with the COBE 2991 cell processor. Coursework includes understanding the hydraulic pump, the centrifuge motor, power distribution, mechanical drives, and associated control circuits. Heavy emphasis is placed on learning the preventive maintenance procedures and troubleshooting failures. A brief history of the development of the COBE 2991 cell processor will be presented.

Upon completing this course, you will be able to:

  • Provide in-depth control circuit analysis
  • Troubleshoot the different vintage COBE 2991 cell processors in the field
  • Perform preventive maintenance on the COBE 2991 cell processor
  • Perform calibration on the COBE 2991 cell processor

Prerequisites:
Learners must have a strong electrical/mechanical background. An understanding of transistor logic circuits; CMOS gate technology, including various flip flops; OR, AND, NOR and NAND gates; and invertors is strongly recommended. The ability to use basic test equipment, such as pressure meters, digital multimeters, and tachometers, is necessary for successful completion of the course. Attendees must complete the pre-class readings and be prepared to pass a quiz.
